Love that Shot: My Kids!

Check out all the AWESOME shots at LoveThatShot !Sunday evening fall was in the air. The sun was warm, a cool breeze was floating across the yard, and miracles happened..my kids were not fighting but actually playing together !!! I had to run in and grab my camera to capture this moment :P

I really wanted the sun flare in the shot because that is what we see every evening when we play outside so I shot at an ap of F11 and processed it bolder than I normally go because lets face it, my kids are loud and they LOVE color. I fiddled with it in camera RAW and did a LAB mode color pop to really bring out the colors (yes my son is wearing shorts and my daughter is wearing a hoodie..it fits their personalities lol). I love that they are playing together more, even if it means more fights somedays. They are best friends and would do anything for one another if someone else started picking on them..they are my happiness (now if only I had gotten a shot with the baby in it too!)

I tried to get G in this shot but alas, he really did not want to lay down in the grass, he just wanted to crawl around and try to eat it :P I love this series, it will be on my walls very very soon!

I heart faces: vroom vroom

I knew I had to enter this photo as soon as I saw vroom vroom in the title! My husband and his dad LOVE cars, I call my husband's car "the other woman" and I'm not convinced that I'm always in 1st place (just kidding, I cook and she doesn't therefore I win!) so when we went to visit grandma and grandpa I HAD to get a shot of our baby boy on one of grandpa's car!

C's first day of school...

I'm still working on the new blog, I want everything to be perfect!

But with everything going on that has taken a back burner to vacation, first day of school, etc!

I'm working on a new blog! This one has been good to me for years now but it is time to move on. Slowly I'm figuring out the new blog and as soon as it is up and running I will send out a link! We had a great 4th of July, the rain broke just long enough for some fireworks. Doesn't E look impressed :P They were sold out of sparklers by the time mommy got talked into going to get some but our neighbors offered to share so the kids go to experience it for the very first time!

I heart faces: Teens

This week at I heart Faces the challenge is teens, I knew immediately I needed to use this photo of two wonderful teens on prom night. This was their third prom together, she came home from school to attend his senior prom and then I had the pleasure of photographing his graduation as well (a graduating class of 2! from a private school!) I love the look on her face, it is very "he's mine and he knows it" and the secret feeling of the moment captured of young love!

summer is here!

we have been so busy with volunteering with the FRG, photos, training for Seth, homework, and just LIFE that it was absolutely wonderful to just sit back and relax this weekend and play at the lake! The kids had a blast, Charleigh swam to Daddy all by herself, and Eli dug in the sand until his little heart was content!

I wish my kids would do this...

My easiest session to date! Not a bad shot in the bunch of these two cuties, they were just perfect little models! And at six years old and 15 months old I have my fears of getting a good shot together! You can see they really love each other and what gorgeous smiles!

well sort of, my bedroom looks nothing like this. There is a pack and play and clothes and kids stuff everywhere but I can dream!
